Parent/Guardian Code of Conduct

As a parent or guardian of a child participating in a UDFC program, I agree to abide by the following code of conduct:

  1. I will treat players, coaches, fans and officials with respect and common decency.

  2. I will encourage my child to treat players, coaches, fans and officials with respect and common decency and ensure my child understands and follows the UDFC Player Code of Conduct.

  3. I will follow the rules and policies of UDFC and will be responsible for ensuring family and friends in attendance at UDFC programs do so as well.

  4. I will encourage a culture of good sportsmanship for all players, coaches and officials at every game, practice or other UDFC event.

  5. I understand UDFC programs are for the enjoyment of the children.  I will conduct myself in ways that make soccer a fun activity for my child.

  6. I will insist that my child play in a fun, safe and healthy environment.  Issues or concerns are to be brought to the attention of the team coach, Program Coordinator or Board of Directors.

  7. I will ensure that my child arrives to practice and games prepared and on-time.

  8. I will respect and support the decisions of the team’s coaching staff.  Questions or concerns should be discussed at a time and place to minimize negative impact on the players.  A program coordinator should be contacted to mediate issues that cannot be reconciled at the team level.

  9. I will refrain from coaching my child or other players during a game.  Players need to be able to focus on the game, their teammates and coaches.

  10. If I do not agree with a coach’s or referee’s decision I will refrain from vocalizing my dissatisfaction in an effort to promote and reinforce the positive and enjoyable soccer experience.

Failure to follow this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action by the UDFC Board of Directors or its appointed Discipline Committee, including being barred from attending UDFC programs and/or expulsion from UDFC.
